It is one of the rare viscose products on the market that is made in a truly eco-friendly way, using a closed-loop system which recycles the solvents used in its production. Tencel comes from the pulp of the eucalyptus trees and is grown on sustainably run farms certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Eucalyptus trees produce a very high yield of cellulose per acre and give the best quality fiber with the least amount of waste. The process used to make Tencel is designed to be as efficient as possible, and uses non-toxic chemicals and solvents during processing. In addition, Tencel is a high-tenacity cellulose fiber, which gives strength and shine to yarn and fiber blends. Tencel gives you the look and feel of silk without the cost of silk. It is also considered a vegan product.
