This is such a wonderful and special yarn. It was made by my own hand painted fiber and extra long teeswater locks, and hand spun by me. Notice the difference of color in the photos - I took these pictures outside in the natural light, and some were taken right as the sun decided to come out and play. The yarn practically glows like fire embers!
There is some variation, but most of these locks are at least 12 inches long, and sell for $22/oz by themselves normally. Extreme tailspinning is a very time consuming process where you spin the locks into the yarn one at a time, then overlap with the filler fiber as you go to secure them in place. The "filler fiber" that makes up the intervals between locks is made from our popular and stunning rose pearl fiber blended with merino, tencel, silk, and hints of angelina and firestar here and there for an extremely subtle sparkle.
This is the highest class of yarn out there, and would be perfect to use as-is for a necklace, art cowl, scarf, or even just to display. You do not need to be a knitter or crocheter to use this yarn, though you still could knit or crochet or even weave with it with amazing results. .
This yarn is just under 5oz and is approximately 82 yards.
