Faux angora is such a fun fiber! It possesses the special qualities of real angora rabbit fiber, while providing you with a felt-free version made entirely out of nylon. Like real angora, it has a micron count ranging from approximately 11 to 13 microns, and creates a really unique characteristic "halo" when you spin it into yarn, making it look super fuzzy.
It is also considered a vegan alternative if you don't want to use real angora (though all of our fiber is cruelty free). Because this is made out of nylon, it will add strength and stretch to your project.
Wonderful to card into batts, dye up (will take color brilliantly), and even spin on its own.
We are happy to dye this fiber in any color you can dream up! If you choose the dyed option from the drop-down menu, please message us with what color you would like it dyed. Examples of colors available are all throughout our shop, as I hand dye each order as it is placed.
The second photo shows a hat that I recently made (already sold) which was made out of rainbow merino plied with pure faux angora and hand spun and knitted.. You can see how it looks super fuzzy and soft using the faux angora. This photo is for reference only and the listing is for the fiber, not the hat.
