This colorway is called Seashore Sunrise and features delicate peach, sage green, and the lightest aqua seafoam blue. These rolags are made with 19 micron, cruelty-free merino wool, and are accented with a gorgeous sparkle of golden angelina fiber (they can be made without the sparkle if you prefer to skip it).
I hand rolled these on my hand-made fiber blending board. Please send a note with your order if you prefer to have these made out of superwash wool instead of regular wool and I can substitute it out free of charge.
A lot of people ask me, "what are these for?". These are most commonly used by people who spin their own yarn with either a spinning wheel or a spindle. They are dyed bits of wool that have been combed out so that they will change color automatically as you spin them. Many people also use these to felt dreads, doll hair, and other really unique projects.
Punis and rolags are a very fun way to spin fiber. They are easier to hold onto than big art batts and all of the drafting work has already been done for you. They may look confusing, but this isa actually my favorite way to spin fiber!
Joining them together is as simple as touching it to the fiber as it spins, and this way of spinning creates predictable, gorgeous variations in your hand spun yarn. If you prefer to felt, feel free! It will work for that too.
