This is a wonderful and luxurious yarn. Unlike cultivated silk, Tussah Silk is harvested after the months are allowed to freely hatch out of their cocoons unharmed. This is why it is often called " Peace Silk." Because the cocoon is chewed during the hatching process, the silk is not as smooth as cultivated silk, resulting in a more grabby yarn. This yarn is smoother than the bleached Tussah silk version, however. It's very soft, ultra shiny, takes dye beautifully, and has the most incredible drape. Priced per one skein.
